If you're enrolled in a treatment program, your clinic may invite you to connect your BetterStep account for monitoring and support.
Connecting to a Clinic
Step-by-Step Process
- Receive invite link from clinic (email, SMS, or in-person)
- Open link in BetterStep app
- Review clinic details and data sharing scope
- Tap "Connect" to approve
- Data sync begins automatically
What Gets Shared
When connected, your clinic can view:
- Daily check-in data
- Risk score and trends
- Quest completion rates
- Engagement metrics
Private Data - Slip tracking remains private unless you choose to share. Your chat conversations with the AI coach are summarized, not shared verbatim.
Privacy Controls
You maintain full control over clinic connections via Settings → Connected Clinics.
Data Sharing Toggle

- No new data syncs while disabled
- Can re-enable at any time
- Does not affect your personal tracking
Disconnect from Clinic
- Remove yourself from any clinic at any time
- Disconnection is immediate
- Clinic loses access to view your data
- Historical data retained by clinic for their records
Multi-Clinic Support
You can connect to multiple clinics simultaneously:
